Tweed, the fabric of 2020
Gracing the runways, filling fashion magazines, a fabric that we have been working with, crafting and celebrating for years, has been declared the fabric of 2020 - Tweed.
Tweed was invented in the 18th century by farmers to wear during cold winters. Known originally as Clò-Mór in Irish, which translates to ‘the big cloth', tweed is thick, weather resistant and extremely durable, making it perfect as a winter fabric.
From outer coats to skirts, this year has seen tweed all over the runways, and we are honestly very excited to see this gorgeous fabric being thrown back into the spotlight where it truly deserves to be.
The weave of tweed, and in particular our stunning Tipperary tweeds, means that you can create beautiful patterns and intricate colour-ways, which in turn makes the most beautiful skirts.
Each of our handcrafted tweed skirts is designed and cut to accentuate and flatter your figure, to be wearable at any occasion and to stand up to years of wearing.
